Here are four reasons why I know that Israel will survive and thrive after the Oct. 7 massacre, that I learned from the Jerusalem Winner Marathon.

Israel is at a crossroads, facing political, military, and moral challenges. The essence of statesmanship is as crucial as ever to navigate our modern complexities.

When the war began, it seemed that the different sectors in Israeli society were finally uniting, but as time has gone on that optimism is fading.

I say to every Jew who lives outside of Israel but yearns to be with us and yearns to cry with us: We know. We feel your support, and please don’t ever stop showing it.

“Unity” is the call for humans to draw a clear boundary between “right vs wrong,” and not let it fall into the muddy waters of “Right vs Left.”

Many soldiers have reported on the renewed spirit of unity amongst themselves and how discussions of politics between them have brought them together, rather than tearing them apart.

Experiencing social unity, I don’t just respect other people’s opinions, but I act as they act. They act as I act. In this, we are one.  

According to the official Knesset website, a national unity government is one based on a broad coalition, the members of which also include representatives of rival parliamentary groups.

We can either all unite around a shared narrative and ethos, despite our differences, or find ourselves pulled back into the internal wars in a sad and predictable process.
