A shutdown of Aden airport was ordered by the transportation minister in the separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC) that runs southern Yemen, a Saudi source told Reuters on Thursday.

It said the decision came after a comprehensive assessment following recent developments.

The strike occurred shortly after an evacuation warning was issued for all civilians in the Mukalla area, advising them to evacuate until further notice ahead of military operations.

"The UAE reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to supporting all endeavors aimed at strengthening stability and development in Yemen," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Discussions by the delegation in Aden, the base of the Saudi-backed, internationally recognized Yemeni government, will address measures to rectify recent unilateral actions.

Al-Ain reported Egypt is training a potential Gaza police force to focus on sensitive issues, most notably border and crossing management, which will be key to the next phase of the ceasefire.

US envoy Massad Boulos explained that, while there were no objections to the plan's content, the Sudanese army had returned with "impossible preconditions."

The two leaders affirmed a shared commitment to a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
