Some 138 kidney transplant recipients and 80 liver transplant recipients participated in the study, as well as 25 individuals who did not present similar issues, to act as controls.

While all participants in the control group displayed a positive antibody response to spike protein, only 51 of the 136 (37.5%) organ transplant recipients had positive serology.

The donations were received at the following medical centers: Soroka, Wolfson, Assuta Ashdod and Meir Kfar Saba.

Following market research, Gamida Cell expects to treat 2,000 patients in the US in the three years after the drug is offered to patients.
