Over the past month, an undercover investigation was conducted by the Modi’in Illit police station and the Nature and Parks Authority’s unit combating illegal hunting.

Israel Police, INPA find lemur, parrots, chameleons, stuffed gazelle illegally held near Netanya

The animals were being kept illegally in a private home, and were transferred to INPA custody. This was the first time that authorities had found the critically endangered species of lemur.

Death traps for birds: Reducing the danger of transparent acoustic walls

A recent study revealed that hundreds of thousands of birds in Israel die every year because of colliding into transparent acoustic walls, as well as smashing into windows in high-rise buildings. 

 Stickers of birds of prey affixed to acoustic barriers have proven only partly effective, since birds flying at lower levels can see open areas on the other side.
