RAISI’S DEPARTURE won’t end this rise of the mediocre in the Iranian system. His temporary successor, former IRGC officer Mohammed Mokhber, is a product of the same process.

All passengers on board the helicopter, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, were killed in the crash on Sunday.

The aircraft was coordinating a search and rescue effort before going missing.

"On October 7, we were game-changers," Rozenfeld said. "Without United Hatzalah, hundreds more would have died.”

This is the latest helicopter raid by US forces in Syria and appears to be part of an increase of these types of operations.
