The incident is the most recent in a string of attacks against branches of the Japanika chain, owned by businessman and Beitar Jerusalem owner Barak Abramov.

The suspect, a Bat Yam resident in his 20s, was taken for questioning by the Tel Aviv District Central Unit and will be brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Police announced on Tuesday that the Tel Aviv District Police Central Unit had arrested Yossi Musli on suspicion of involvement in shootings and grenade attacks targeting Japanika locations.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Friday, where police will request his detention be extended to facilitate the ongoing investigation into the incidents.

The arrest was carried out as part of the investigation into the wave of grenade attacks, arson, and shootings that has hit central and northern Israel in recent days.

The arrest comes after a series of grenade attacks hit central Israel with no injuries recorded, raising suspicions that IDF weapons have been illicitly distributed.

According to the Israel Police, forces arrived at the scene shortly after a report of an explosion, and an investigation is ongoing.

Authorities believe the overnight grenade blast at a north Tel Aviv luxury complex was criminally motivated, though the target remains unclear.

Numerous explosives, ‘Kalashnikov’ rifles, grenades, RPGs, machine guns, munitions, and combat equipment were found in the cache. 

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the explosion, which occurred before the gunfire, was followed by a drone hovering over the area.
