Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said later Tuesday that he instructed officials to "prepare for an additional subsidy on gasoline to stem the price spike," according to N12 News.

Oil loadings at the Red Sea port of Yanbu were suspended, sources told Reuters, while Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline remained offline after attacks on the kingdom’s energy infrastructure.

Smotrich's order to lower gas prices will remain in effect until October 31, four days after Israel's 2026 election.
