The Spokane-area fires have scorched more than 8,000 acres since erupting on Saturday in and around suburbs on the northern fringe of the city, home to about 230,000 residents.

The death toll in rain-related incidents rose to 11 by Sunday, and nearly 7,700 people were evacuated to around 275 relief camps across Kerala, a state government minister said.

Officials said methane gas triggered the Balochistan mine blast, damaging a ventilation passage and complicating efforts to reach trapped miners.

A second-floor balcony in the three-story building collapsed onto a ground-floor restaurant on Monday, causing significant damage, the Fire and Rescue Authority reported.

Survival chances for the trapped workers were slim, state disaster management official Rajiv Roka said, as rescuers had to battle the fumes, making their task difficult.

Local authorities are making every effort to rescue those affected in a village in Tanchang county, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. The cause of the landslide remains unclear.

Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado said on Monday that she is "willing to do whatever it takes" to enter Venezuela to help with the country's recovery efforts following last week's earthquakes.

Multiple patients who suffered from chemical burns and other injuries were transported to nearby hospitals. Authorities said the implosion posed "no immediate threat to the surrounding community."

According to Angolan authorities, those killed were aged between 16 and 35 years old, with a total of four people rescued.

Chinese President Xi Jinping called for authorities to "spare no effort" in treating the injured and conducting search-and-rescue operations.
