Anyone who flies abroad knows the situation: Landing in a new destination, needing to get to the hotel, and then beginning the search for a local transportation app, registering for a new service, and calculating the fare's actual cost in shekels. Now Gett is seeking to save Israeli passengers that entire process.

The company is launching a new service that will allow users to book rides abroad directly through the Gett app, featuring upfront pricing displayed in NIS. and payment made using the payment method already saved in the app. The service is launching in a trial period in 26 countries and is expected to expand later to more than 70 countries worldwide.

Among the countries where the service is already available in the initial phase are several popular destinations for Israelis, including the US, France, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, and Georgia. Overall, the launch list also includes Austria, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Finland, the Czech Republic, Canada, Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland.

How it works: Seamless booking via the existing app

Users will open the app at their destination, choose the type of ride, and receive the available options in the area. The rides themselves will be provided by local and international transportation providers, eliminating the need to download an additional app or open an account with a local service.

Here too, the company is attempting to maintain a user experience familiar to Israeli users: Prices will be displayed in shekels, and payment will be made directly through the app. In addition, customer service will be provided by Gett in Hebrew.

Vehicle options for every traveler’s needs

The service is not limited to taxis alone. Depending on supply at each destination, users will also be able to book private vehicles, electric vehicles, premium vehicles, and large vehicles to transport several passengers. For instance, a family with luggage or a group of friends will be able to choose a vehicle category that suits them, rather than relying on the single option offered by a local service.

Powered by HQ: Global scale without a dedicated fleet

Behind the service is a partnership with HQ, whose platform connects hundreds of transportation providers and vehicle fleets in more than 1,000 cities worldwide. The connection enables Gett to expand globally without operating its own dedicated vehicle fleet in each destination.

During the trial phase, additional destinations and capabilities are expected to be added to the service. Currently, users can contact the driver via a phone call, and an option for internet calls directly from the app is expected to be added later.

Mark Oun, CEO of Gett: "We are now taking another step forward and allowing our users to take Gett with them abroad as well. Our goal is simple – to be the transportation platform for Israelis and enable them to get around in the way that suits them, both in Israel and around the world."

Amiad Solomon, CEO of HQ: "Through the connection with HQ Extend, millions of Israelis will now be able to move easily around the world without changing their familiar user experience with Gett, enjoying quality global service in Hebrew and using their existing payment methods."
