It's been a long time coming, but New York-based Swifties and anyone who’s been on social media this week have noticed a massive presence of security and crew going in and out of Madison Square Garden, where speculation has reached a fever-dream high that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are expected to tie the knot this weekend.
However, sources close to the couple told Page Six that the once in 20 lifetimes party will be just that - a party - and while guests are sure to have a marvelous time, the couple actually held a private ceremony several weeks ago and are already married.
Swift and Kelce are both huge in their respective fields, but the pop star has been known to be quite the mastermind at keeping the most intimate details of her relationships private, carefully controlling what the world is allowed to see of her life.
No, you can’t come to the wedding
While the exact details of when the wedding will be, who’s going, and what the DJ will play if not Love Story are all under wraps, what has been made public is the fact that Swift and Kelce chose to mark the occasion with an incredible act of generosity, donating some $26 million to various charities across the United States.
Swift’s publicist, the mythical Tree Paine, confirmed the amount to The Athletic, and non-profits such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Feeding America, and multiple food banks across the US have released statements thanking the couple.
“Even with your busy schedules, your big hearts thought of tiny paws like ours,” the ASPCA wrote in a social media post thanking the two, signed by the ASPCA’s kittens, which Swift is known to love.
The pair also donated to several hospitals, charities supporting education in both music and sports, and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, proving that kindness never goes out of style.
