Lebanon's Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem said on Thursday that as long as Lebanese villages were being bombed and people were being killed, northern Israel would not be safe.

In a speech marking the anniversary of the death of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the first Supreme Leader of Iran, Qassem dismissed the possibility of a ceasefire while Israel maintained military pressure, calling the negotiations "useless, humiliating, and disgraceful for Lebanon."

He also accused Israel and the United States of bringing Lebanon to "surrender to the 'greater Israel' project."

"When the central objective is the disarmament of the resistance as a condition for any agreement, this means eliminating Lebanon's strength and poses an existential threat to its resisting people," he said. "This is a plan designed to destroy Lebanon, undermine its stability, and provoke internal conflict among the Lebanese in Israel's favor, so that Israel can achieve politically what it failed to achieve through war."

Israel acting against all of Lebanon, Hezbollah chief claims

Israel's actions in Lebanon, he claimed, were "aggression against all of us," and it was up to the Lebanese government to unite the nation against Israel.

He emphasized that Hezbollah had not agreed to refrain from resisting or retaliating against attacks.
