A man attempted to stab a Border Police officer early on Friday morning in an attempted terror attack at the Western Galilee police station, Israel Police said.
The man arrived at the entrance to the station around 5:30 a.m., emerged from his car, and charged toward a Border Police officer with a knife in his hand.
The officer was able to stop the suspect, a 23-year-old from the town of Jadeidi-Makr.
The suspect was detained for questioning.
Following an investigation, a decision will be made regarding a request to extend his detention in court.
Another recent attack: Car ramming at Gush Etzion Junction
Just this past Sunday, a ramming attack occured at the Gush Etzion Junction, where three civilians were injured, including two teenage girls who were taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center for emergency treatment.
The terrorist, a 30-year-old from Hebron, was killed by a soldier of the Kfir Brigade.
The soldier who killed the terrorist also provided emergency medical treatment to one of the wounded, saving their life, a spokesperson from the Gush Etzion Regional Council said.
The IDF raided the terrorist's home on 1 June, interrogating those close to him.
