Dozens were killed in a fire in Bangkok, Thailand, during the overnight between Sunday and Monday, after getting trapped in the venue's bathroom as people were attempting to escape the fire, according to Thai authorities.
In total, at least 27 people were killed, Thailand Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told reporters at the scene.
Additionally, a Bangkok Metropolitan Administration official announced that 63 others were injured in the blaze, which reportedly occurred in front of the stage area of the bar "Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao."
The site is one of the most popular venues in Bangkok's Chatuchak district, with firefighters needing 35 minutes to bring the flames under control, according to local authorities.
Charnvirakul added that the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
The Jerusalem Post reached out to the Foreign Ministry to investigate if any Israelis were present.
