The defense technology company Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has announced that its Israeli subsidiary, Orbit Communications Systems, received multiple seven-figure orders from international customers for its GAIA 100 Tri-Band 5.5-meter and 6.1-meter antenna systems.
The orders support Earth Observation (EO), New Space innovation, and satellite communications applications, which the company said reflects “continued demand” for its ground station solutions.
Kratos did not disclose the identities of the international customers or the individual value of each order.
“More broadly, has Orbit seen increased demand for ground-station infrastructure from LEO constellations, Earth-observation companies, [and] defense customers,” a Kratos representative told Defense & Tech by The Jerusalem Post.
We are seeing a growing global trend toward advanced ground-station solutions, particularly for Earth Observation applications involving LEO satellites as the continued expansion of constellations is driving the need for reliable, high-performance and capable ground infrastructure to support greater data volumes and mission requirements,” the representative added.
System combines radio-frequency tracking with existing control architecture
“Orbit’s recent multi-million-dollar orders… reflect this trend and demonstrate the market’s confidence in the reliability and performance of our ground-station systems.”
The GAIA 100 Tri-Band 6.1 system uses Orbit’s Auto Track technology, which can provide the accuracy required by Ka-band communications, Kratos said in the statement on Wednesday.
The system's Ka-band capabilities are particularly relevant as satellite operators increasingly move toward higher-frequency communications to handle growing data volumes.
Further, the system is said to combine integrated radio-frequency tracking with Orbit’s control architecture, allowing it to maintain precise satellite alignment while maximizing link performance under operating conditions.
The system also features an integrated Radome designed to protect critical antenna components from environmental exposure, which Orbit said can increase system availability, extend service life, and reduce lifecycle costs.
Building on previous developments in the GAIA family, the 6.1 meter system includes horizon-to-horizon tracking, full hemispherical coverage, and support for Low Earth Orbit, Medium Earth Orbit, and Geostationary Earth Orbit missions.

"The GAIA 100 Tri-Band 6.1 was developed to address these evolving requirements by combining enhanced antenna performance, highly accurate Ka-band tracking, and a robust, low-maintenance architecture within a single platform."
Kratos acquired Orbit in March 2026 in a deal valued at over $350 million. The acquisition gave Kratos access to Orbit's SATCOM, satellite tracking, and communications management technologies, expanding its capabilities across different arenas.
The company provides satellite-based mobile communications for airborne, maritime, and land platforms. Major air forces, prime contractors, and emerging defense and space companies across Israel, the United States, Europe, and the Pacific deploy its systems.
It was integrated into Kratos’ Microwave Electronics Division, based in Jerusalem, strengthening Kratos’ footprint in Israel while expanding its reach into Orbit’s established customer base.
